I’m a jackass
Just….take the journey with me, if you will.
So, of course, i work at this antiques store on Saturdays. pay is great and i usually don’t do anything. So today we had one couple come in with their dog (annoying) and that was it….until 1:30. A lovely British man strolled in and began talking with me about the furniture….i was trying to be polite and leave him to his business because you can’t usually do the annoying salesgirl routine in an antique store where everythin g is $3,000 and above. So I offer to show him the second showroom, where all our goodies are hidden. We’re walking and talking about, you know, furniture, and as I’m walking back into the store I introduce myself to him with “Hi, I’m Aryiel. I’m the new Saturday girl.” He says hi and shakes my hand and I say,”What’s your name?” And he replies back “Scott? Ridley Scott?”
Yeeeeeeup.
Then after that, not only do I fumble on the computer, but I end up not finding the info he needed. He said it was no problem and he would just have his secretary call on Monday but…..really. I’m on the computer printing out information and all the other nonsense, when two guys come into the store as well.
As I’m comforting myself, telling my brain that just because i didn’t know what Ridley Scott looked like, it’s really no big deal and i’m sure that happens a lot….I overhear one of the guys say to him “I just want to say you’ve made a lot of incredible movies…..”
Well shit.
